日前海斯去接受英國節目Soundtrack to My Life訪問，現場演唱Price的 Thieves in the Temple 、To the Moon and Back、瑪丹娜的 Ray of Light 、Annie Lennox的 Why 、On the Verge of Something Beautiful。 訪談內容從海斯童年說起，說到父親的酗酒與暴力傾向，一直到海斯十歲都過著貧苦的生活。至此音樂成了海斯的出口，真正的生命來自音樂，雖然買不起唱片，卻也能以歌唱模仿為樂。真正啟發海斯的是麥可傑克森與瑪丹娜，在看過他們的演唱會後，海斯決心要與他們做一樣的事情。 海斯正式的演唱生涯從成軍兩年的Red Edge樂團開始，拆夥後，他與其中成員 Daniel Jones 組成 野人花園 ，因為只有兩個人，一切製作創作都得自己包辦，一直到 第二張專輯 推出，Jones退出，野人花園解散。因為和Jones一起成長，一起工作，海斯基於愛與支持，尊重這樣的決定。單飛後與帕華洛帝合作演出。後來瑪丹娜透過 Sony 的老闆跟海斯說，她指名要他在當晚表演 Ray Of Light。 主持人問到，如果是自己的喪禮，該放什麼樣的音樂，海斯說那天一定要下雨，外燴難吃得食不下嚥，一切都不對，然後撥 Annie Lennox的Why 。關於愛情生活，海斯坦承，他內心的確是同性戀，不該與青梅竹馬的Colby Taylor結婚，導致雙方痛苦不堪，最後以離婚收場。但分開後，兩人成了知心好友，終結浪漫成為了紅粉知己。 已經在倫敦住了快要三年的海斯談到會到英國來純粹是因為偶然，因為個人第二張專輯 The Tension and the Spark 不受當時的唱片公司青睞，只有該集團的英國分公司工作人員不斷支持，再加上在這裡認識了Richard Cullen，是海斯目前共結連理的同志伴侶，當時的海斯並沒有因為事業下坡而失落，因為Richard填補了悲傷與不順。 節目以海斯的On the Verge of Something Beautiful做結。
