海斯跟理查分居了，聲明原文中文翻譯如下，原文 於此 。 「說到音樂跟歌詞，我是一個很坦白的人，但提到家與家庭生活時，我就非常注重隱私。雖然要將生命裡最神聖也寶貴的部份留給我自己是個挑戰，我覺得還是必須對總是關心我內心世界的人坦白，過去兩年我的私生活有了哪些變化。 在與天底下最好的人結婚十七年後，我跟理查選擇接受我們的結合已經逐漸走到圓滿的結束。為此我們今年初已經分居，但還是彼此支持。 因為大家會問，且讓我直接回答這些刺耳的疑問，一勞永逸，不，我們之間沒有什麼醜聞，沒有人出軌或第三方介入。只是人生走到了這一步。我們還是喜歡彼此，且會一直這樣下去。我們將這場婚姻視為我們之間最了不起的創作成果。誰也無法奪走我們一起的成就。 我們還是最好的朋友，永遠如此。何況我們還有一隻可愛又索求無度的拉布拉多貴賓狗要照顧⋯⋯ 謝謝你一路支持我們的結合，且對我們創作的這個嬌貴東西（this delicate thing we made）保持溫柔的態度。 戴倫（跟理查）」
